Directions
Boil: Cooking Directions on the Stove: 1. In a saucepan bring water to a boil†. 2. Stir in rice.†† 3. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes or until water is absorbed.
†Cooking Measurement Chart: For drier rice, use 1/4 cup less water. For moister rice, use 1/4 cup more water.
To 1 cup rice add 2.5 cups water to yield 3.5 cups or 5 (3/4 cup cooked) servings.
To 2 cups rice add 5 cups water to yield 7 cups or 9 (3/4 cup cooked) servings.
To 3 cups rice add 7.5 cups water to yield 10.5 cups or 14 (3/4 cup cooked) servings.
††Add 1 Tbsp. butter and 1 tsp. salt per cup of uncooked rice, if desired. Microwave: Cooking Directions in the Microwave†††: 1. In a 2-1/2 quart microwave-safe dish, combine 3 cups water and 1 cup rice. †† 2. Cover and microwave on High for 10 minutes. Reduce setting to 50% power; microwave for 20 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes.
†Cooking Measurement Cart: For drier rice, use 1/4 cup less water. For moister rice, use 1/4 cup more water.
