Also known as “benne seed”, the creamy white seeds are loved throughout the world in both baked goods as well as savory dishes. Sesame seeds are a key ingredient in Asian, Indian and Middle Eastern cooking, where they add a nutty flavor and satisfying crunch. In Asia, they are added to stir-fries, sushi, coatings for meat or fish, and noodle dishes. In the Middle East, they are in confections, spice blends and in tahini paste, an essential ingredient in hummus. Sesame seeds are enjoyed sprinkled on baked goods like rolls, bagels, cookies and pastries. Toasting brings out a rich, nuttier flavor – add the seeds to a hot pan and cook 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Directions
Sprinkle on top of refrigerator biscuits before baking. Toast in 350 degree oven 15 minutes and use in ground beef, pie crust and stuffings. Use toasted on vegetables, cheese balls, stuffed mushrooms, cottage cheese and fruit salads.
